2018 Happy Chinese New Year celebrations to open in Ethiopia

As a major African country that hosts the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, Ethiopia has seen its economy flourish over the years due to China's increasing direct investment in its infrastructure, transportation, manufacturing and many other sectors.

Meanwhile, Chinese culture and arts have become more familiar to and loved by the Ethiopian people thanks to frequent cultural exchanges between the two countries.

On the evening of Feb 5, the art troupe put on its first "Colorful Guizhou"-themed show at the National Theatre of Ethiopia. The show featured the singing and dancing of the ethnic groups in Guizhou province and traditional Chinese acrobatics.
