Education is very important as it is the key to development in old revolutionary base areas and impoverished areas, President Xi Jinping said when he visited a primary school at Yangjialing, Yan'an, Shaanxi province, on Feb 14, 2015.

Xi stressed the importance of education, noting education is the key to development in poor areas. "Don't let the kids lose at the starting line," said Xi.
